“A dame who knows the ropes isn’t likely to get tied up” – Mae West
I grew up with a heart full of wanderlust. I grew up poor in Jacksonville, Florida not far from NAS Mayport. My parents were in their 40’s when I was born. My dad was a corpsman in the Navy and then a taxi driver and security guard. My mom was a housekeeper and took care of my handicap brother. We rarely took trips and even when we did they were only to visit family in nearby Georgia.
My husband and I met in high school in 2002 and got married in 2005. We immediately wanted to travel. Our first trip was of course, our honeymoon. We went to Orlando and visited 3 Disney parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Epcot and Medieval Times.
Soon after we started to take annual vacations. And then bi-annual vacations. We both love to travel and vacation like locals, Very soon we are planning an epic road trip to move cross country! So I started this blog to reveal my secrets of epic vacation spots and share my wanderlust. My views are that life is short and the world is small, so we owe it to ourselves to explore every inch of it if possible. Traveling can be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. We often set out in our car with no real plans and see what we can do when we get there. This insane method of travel has led to some amazing adventures!
